Travel Diary : Chennai

Chennai, India's forth largest city, is the capital of Tamil Nadu state. Chennai is an enjoyable place because it suffers far less from congestion and overcrowding than other big Indian cites.

Althoug the Chennai city has long been important for textile manufacturing, a great deal of industrial expansion, including car-assembly plants, railway coach and track works, engineering plants, it firm, bpo and call centers, film studious and educational institutes.

The city offers a remarkably efficient range of public services, You can us public buses and suburban trains, but avoid during pick hours due to overcrowds. Avoid to ride auto rickshaw and if needed confirm the fares before start.

Place of Interest

St Mary's Church, buit in 1670, was the first English church in Channai, and is the oldest surviving curch in India

Kapaleeshwarar Temple, this anicent Siva temple, off Kutchery Road in Mylapore, was constructed in pure Dravidian style. Famous for its tank full of sacred catfish.

Marina, The sandy stretch of beach known as Marina extends for 13 km, its the longest Indian Beach.
